We are a group of students, educators, AAC users and organizations in Portland, Oregon. We are working towards inclusion and representation of AAC with the Trail Blazers and beyond.
The Project: Developing a Trail Blazers Specific AAC Vocabulary Set that Portlanders can use to support expressive communication within our local fandom. Promoting awareness of AAC and developing community and inclusion of family and friends who use AAC in Portland, Oregon.
The Dream: AAC awareness and inclusion with our local sports teams. Programing that includes AAC through focused game nights. AAC Vocabulary Core Set incorporated into accessibility programming, AAC utilized within printed and seasonal promotional materials, AAC featured on into Jumbotron graphics, social media and marketing. AAC inclusion in all local sports teams. Portland is a city of inclusion and offers an opportunity to champion the use of AAC specific Vocabulary Core Sets in our local sports team such as the Trailblazers, the Timbers, the WinterHawks, the Pickles and more!
The Vision: Access for all and Universally Designed content supporting meaningful ways to interact.
